Hi Pony, I just tried to get on SR and it won't come up at all. I then decided that I would just stop in here at ED and post something hoping that someone might want to talk. I myself, am having a down day today. I'm very depressed. I have been progressively getting worse for a while now. I know that it's because I'm so tired all of the time.
Hubby and I decided that we would try something different to lose weight and we started today. We are going to eat the Healthy Choice dinners and Lean Cuisine dinners only. I'll keep you all updated as to how it's working. I guess that I just needed to tell someone. Thanks to anyone for reading this if you ever see it.

Teach, I'm sorry that you're depressed too. Try not to get too down on yourself. We've just got to keep getting back up and trying again. I think that's the key to success, don't you?!

Well, I am here now. I wish I check in here earlier...sorry. SR was down so I went and played games. Nina, That may just work out to give you a jump start on the food plan. I have thought about that myself. I have been doing things a little different. I have made some changes....except for tonight. Well, today rather. I still need to work on it a whole lot...of course. lol I was going to share this on SR, and still will when it goes back up. But if you are here to talk, I will share it here. I have begun to make an effort to take a lunch with me to work. I am packing a lunch cooler with a sandwhich or something and friut, when I have some, and one soda. Then the rest of day is water for drinks. If I don't eat all my fruit then I try to have it for a snack at one of my layover times at a school. Then I am trying to get dinner eaten before 7. I have also started a food journal, again, and trying to keep track of the times I am eating. I need to make sure that I am not skipping too many meals. That is making me too hungry at night and leads to out of control bingeing. I am allowing myself two soda's for now, a day.....then the rest water. Oh and of course coffee.

Hi Pony, Glad to see you here. Thanks for the encouragement. I hope that our plan works. We're desperate. I had lost 20 lbs, but already gained back 5 of them and hubby is really getting out of control. He's even thinking of trying hypnotism. He wants me to ask on the board if anyone has ever tried it.
Your plan sounds really good. I think the journaling is very smart. I know what you mean about skipping meals during the day making you so hungry at night that it leads to serious bingeing. I used to do that all of the time, a couple of years ago. Journaling really does help you to get a clear picture of what you're eating & drinking and how often.
Hubby says that he's gonna take one of the Healthy Choice Dinners to work every day for lunch. They have a little freezer and a microwave there. I'm glad that he's doing that, because I think that he was skipping lunch alot and then eating more at night too. I think that's alot of why he's getting so much bigger, lately. Well, I guess we'll see how both of our new plans work, huh?!

I know that I have been feeling very defeated because of not doing what I am supposed to do. I sabatage myself. You know? I have not gotten back to the gym and I was eating too much at night. So I had to sit down with "me" and take a good look at what my habits have been.
I know that because I am on the bus driving most of my day, I am not eating a "lunch". I eat at about 9-10 am and then not again until 6-7 pm...with sometimes a little bagal at about noon. But that is not good. I have started having my breakfast about 9 am and then packing up a lunch for around noon, and then if I have some fruit left over, which I usually do, I eat that about 3 pm and then dinner about 6 or 7 pm.
I am still trying to incorporate my exercise program in..... step by step... you know

I know about the feeling of being defeated because of guilt for not doing what I know to do. That's when the negative snowball effect starts to roll. It sounds like you knew what to do about it. Sitting down and taking an honest look at what you're doing & not doing, is the only way to know how to make the proper changes. It sounds like you care about your health and you really want to make the changes necessary. That's a great start. Your food plan sounds really good too. Good luck on the exercise program. I'm supposed to start walking according to my Dr., but I'm just really too tired and I'm already getting up really early, so I don't know how in the world I'm gonna fit it in. I get lots of exercise with this job, but it's not the right kind she says because I don't get my heartrate up and keep it there for a long enough period of time. Oh well, I can only do what I can, and I can't do no more. LOL

Dancing!!!!!!!
When I was finding it hard to get out of the house to go walking.... I would put on the radio and dance. You don't realize how much your herat rate goes up when you are dancing. Try it with the kids. Bet they would love it and get some of their energy out also.
I also have the Lateral Thigh Trainer...it is better then a stair stepper cause it goes side to side and works easier on the joints. It gets my heart rate up and I do it in front of the TV.....that is when I do it...lol. I have so much clutter in my bedroom, which is where I mostly stay in, that there is no room at this moment to get it out, but I am working on fixing theat problem also.
My starting to care about my health has come about again because of a friend that has been very helpful in getting my motivation rejuvinated

Hi, I'm popping in here for a visit! I've just restarted my walking. I had to take 2 weeks off... to have some cardio tests done and then hubby got sick.. so I missed alot of days. I went out 3 times and once did my full 2 miles...but at a slow pace and the other times I did fast pace but shorter distance. I did some 'stress eating' just before mr cmc had this MS episode... I could see it coming and was more worried waiting for it to happen than when it finally did! Ice cream was my doc. I don't weigh myself at home... I just use the 'eye' method- since my # doesn't change much but I can see less fat. I don't need to lose much but I do need the health benefits of the exercise and diet... to handle stress and feel better about myself.
Since I am not a regular here- I don't know what types of things you have tried. I like the Weight Watcher's approach and also use my version of the Mediterranean diet. There's a good article on AOL today about the how the French eat... very good ideas there. I don't have the link. Portion control and no denying treats...just using less of everything and enjoying the meal. I like to make fewer, smaller and more permanent changes in my habits.
Dancing is a great exercise! I do that and what I call by 'ballet' stretches, plus I love to use the stability ball- there are so many different ways to use it too. I have a recumbant exercise bike but prefer to walk outside...it helps me to be in the fresh air and 'out there.' I also feel like I have accomplished more when I walk.
